With black and white films playing quietly in the background, you'll find yourself immersed in a setting that is both cozy and inviting.

Cafe Spile shines not only for its ambiance but also for its unique and flavorful cuisine. The café offers an intriguing selection ranging from their signature 大山鶏の胡麻みそ唐揚げ (Sesame Miso Fried Chicken) to a refreshing 海鮮3種のカルパッチョ (Seafood Trio Carpaccio). Each bite bursts with unexpected flavors that will tantalize your taste buds and leave you craving more. Don't miss the popular スパイスシフォンケーキ (Spiced Chiffon Cake), a sweet delight that balances lightness with rich, aromatic spices that are a testament to the café’s innovative approach to dessert.

Customers rave about the quality and taste of the dishes. One enthusiastic visitor, Massimo Meert, highlighted the café's ability to transform even simple ingredients like lettuce into a seasoned delight, stating, “Delicious food, with spices and flavors you don’t see often in Japan.” Another reviewer, Its twooclock, recommends making a reservation for dinner, suggesting you'll be pleasantly surprised by the bold flavors that distinguish Cafe Spile from traditional cafés.

The café's appeal is particularly strong among women and couples in their 30s and 40s, creating a sense of community among its visitors.

Delicious food, with spices and flavours you don’t see often in Japan. Even the lettuce had great seasoning. Their Chai is amazing, and they sell some bags if you want to make it at home. The atmosphere is cosy and quiet, and the staff is very kind and caring.

TL; DR: 【Make a reservation for dinner because there are not many tables. Good food but be ready for something different than you're expecting just reading the menu. Impressed for a small cafe on a side street in Asagaya.】 Recommended for: Women and couples in their 30s-40s. Pros: Retro atmosphere with black and white movies playing in the background. Lots of food choices for a small cafe. Coffee/Tea were delicious. Nice use of spice in the food. Not many tables so the atmosphere is cozy. Cons: Only brown rice(when I went to: they usually have). Both of us left hungry. It isn't clear on the menu but expect the diet version of all the food. For example, the taco rice was good but it definitely wasn't the usual Okinawan favorite.

Tasty, healthy and fresh. Lots of different options. Too small for telework, long stay.

Great coffee, tea, and dessert in a unique space. Truly enjoyed the quirky and cute nature of this restaurant. The foods and drinks are infused with their own blend of spices. Enjoy your walk and come here.
